Hilman Ahmad, DCE., an Independent Consultant in industrial oil and gas, member of the Society of Indonesian Petroleum Engineers, who manage the Industrial Oil & Gas Education Center for Professionals and has been practicing production operation & safety and corrosion control engineering in Indonesia for more than twenty-five years. He post-graduated from Tokyo Institute of technology (sponsored by UNESCO) in 1977. He joined in-field-practice program at Nippon Kokan Steel Company & Research Center Kawasaki, Japan for production facility design & construction and corrosion prevention & control in 1983, and collaborated with Cormon Industrial Research Center Brighton UK for on-line corrosion monitoring development in 2000.He has been delivering consultative course in production operation, maintenance & safety and corrosion control for personnel from Oil & Gas Company and Petrochemical Industry since 1979.

Ir. Pawito Merto Sontowiro, Msc adalah alumnus Teknik Mesin ITB dan sejak tahun 1973 menjadi dosen di jurusan tersebut sampai sekarang. Beliau adalah kepala Laboratorium Energi termal Teknik Mesin Institut Teknologi Bandung, Beliau juga pernah menjabat sebagai ketua jurusan Teknik Mesin ITENAS Bandung, Pernah mengajar di SESKOAD, Pernah mengajar di prokerma depnaker-ITB, prokerma PLN-ITB. Beliau juga pernah memperdalam keilmuan di luar negeri seperti bidang Coal Energy , Argonne, Chicago, Ill., USA, bidang Combustion, Petc, Pittsburgh, Pa, USA dan Pinch Technology, Asian-Australia Energy Cooperation. Bidang spesialisasi Beliau adalah Boiler, Turbin Uap/Gas, Pompa, Kompresor, Konversi Energi dan analisis energy.. Prof. DR. Ir. IGN. Wiratmaja Puja has 16 years continuous mechnanical engineering experience in failure and stress analysis, mining machinery and design as well as mechanical drawing and has been a consulting engineering expert in machinery and equipment maintenance for PT. Tambang Batubara Tanjung Enim, KONDUR Petroleum and PT. Kereta Api Indonesia. He also has served as an in-company training instructor for several major oil and gas companies such as PT. Badak LNG, PT. Freeport Indonesia, VICO and PT. Timah Tbk.

Mr. Wiratmaja has authored numerous publications and presentations related to mechanical engineering and mining machinery. He holds a M.Sc. and Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kentucky, USA.

DESKRIPSI DAN TUJUAN

This special practical approach course is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of applied corrosion prevention, control and monitoring techniques for oil and gas surface facilities equipment and pipeline, combating internal corrosion damages using chemical inhibitor injection, and to improve personal skill and ability to control, monitor and evaluate the results of pigging operation and chemical injection with corrosion coupon, scale coupon, ER corrosion probes and LPR corrosion probes.

After completion of this course, participants will be able to:

Pipeline:

Pipeline (perpipaan) merupakan bagian yang sangat penting, khususnya bagi perusahaan oil & gas. Diperlukan teknologi yang tepat dan efisien berdasarkan pengetahuan dalam melakukan desain jaringan pipa yang baik. Desain oil pipelines atau natural gas pipelines melibatkan aplikasi massa, energi dan force balances, seleksi material, line sizing, topografi dan gradien elevasi, working pressure, pressure drop, dan parameter terkait seperti kecepatan erosi, friction factor, flashing, kondensasi, korosi, scaling, deposisi, dan masalah aliran multifase. Tidak ada pendekatan tunggal untuk integritas pipa. Mechanical, civil, chemical, metallurgical, unit operations dan banyak faktor yang saling terkait lainnya merupakan dasar dari keseluruhan desain.
Integritas pipeline desain berdasarkan standar, kode dan praktek yang direkomendasikan, terutama dari API, ASME, ANSI, ASTM, NACE. Integritas pipeline harus diperhatikan dari awal desain untuk memastikan bahwa garisnya mampu beroperasi tanpa kegagalan. Pipa dipasang harus dalam kategori risiko rendah. Perlindungan untuk mengantisipasi kerusakan internal dan eksternal harus diperhitungkan dengan seksama. Kegagalan pipeline dapat menyebabkan bencana seperti: kebakaran, ledakan, atau keracunan. Faktor safety adalah yang paling penting dalam pipa. Untuk itu, pertimbangan faktor keamanan dan keselamatan akan ditempatkan sebagai yang utama dalam desain integritas pipeline.

Oil Storange Tank:

Tank adalah software untuk desain, analisis, dan evaluasi tank penyimpanan minyak yang dibuat dari baja yang dilas berdasarkan persyaratan standart American Petroleum Institute (API) Standard 650 & 653. Tank memberikan desain yang luas untuk konstruksi tanki baru dan evaluasi dari tanki yang sudah ada. Tank memberikan kemampuan untuk menganalisis ketebalan dinding & bottom plate, cone roof, penyesuaian material, seismic, pertimbangan servis.maintenance, fleksibilitas nozzle, evaluasi penempatan shell, stabilitas angin, tekanan internal, tinggi fluida yang diijinkan, persyaratan ventilasi, dll. Pelatihan melalui aplikasi tank sangat berguna untuk mendapatkan skill tentang cara mendesain, melakukan simulasi storange tank untuk instalasi offshore / onshore plant sekaligus mengoptimalisasi desain engineering.

Berdasarkan hal tersebut, pengetahuan mengenai Pipeline & Oil Storange Tank ini wajib diketahui oleh para desainer, operator dan inspektor pada perusahaan yang mengandalkan banyak pipeline dan oil storange tank untuk operational kerja, berkenaan dengan desain, testing, inspection, dan maintenance. DR. Ir. I Wayan Suweca has been a senior consulting engineer specialist for PT. TIMAH Tbk., PT. TAMBANG BATUBARA Bukit Asam, KONDUR Petroleum S.A., and PT. KAI whereas he’s involved in failure analysis of machineries and equipments’ design. Mr. Wayan also is a distinguished professor of mechanical engineering at ITB since 1987 and has conducted numerous short courses and seminars for various major oil companies such as PT. CALTEX Pacific Indonesia, PT. FREEPORT Indonesia as well as VICO.

His field of expertise includes mechanical design and drawing, stress analysis and computer aide MSC/Nastran finite element program, mining hydraulics, and vibrations control as well as maintenance management. Mr. Wayan received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Ecole Centrale de Lyon, French in 1990.

Objectives

The global objective of the course is:

To give the participant the comprehensive knowledge of piping & pipeline system.

Each module has the specific objective:
* The participant will understand the difference both piping and pipeline system and what the necessities of each system.
* The participant will gain an in-depth knowledge of material specifications, mechanical properties of strength and toughness, and testing of materials.
* The participant will understand the pipe’s production processes, pipe welding and welding inspection.
* The participant will be introduced to the standard pipe (ASME B31 and API 579).
* The participant will understand the technical background to the design equations, and their application to the design of piping systems and pipelines.
* The participant will gain a practical understanding of piping and pipeline corrosion mechanisms, how to recognize them, classify them and resolve them.
* The participant will be introduce the nondestructive inspection and failure analysis.
* The participants will review case histories of field failures and will evaluate their cause and solutions to avoid recurrence.
