INTRODUCTION :
To fulfill the oil and gas demand for power generation, recovery processes, and other uses, pipelines are utilized to transport the supply from their source.  These pipelines are mostly buried and operate without disturbing normal pursuits.

Construction procedures for most pipeline systems can be adapted to consider specific environmental conditions and are tailored to cause minimal impact on the environment.

Unattended pumping stations move large volumes of oil and petroleum products under high pressure.  Many factors have to be considered in the engineering and design of long-distance pipelines, including the nature and volume of fluid to be transported, the length of pipeline, the types of terrain traversed and the environmental constraints.  Major factor influencing pipeline system design are: Fluid properties, design condition, supply and demand magnitude/location, Code and standards, Route, topography and access, environmental impact, economic, hydrological impact, seismic and volcanic impacts.

To obtain optimum results for a pipeline transmission system, complex economic and engineering studies are necessary to decide on the pipeline diameter, material, compression/pumping power requirements and location of the pipeline route.

Gas production operations often require compressors to raise the pressure of the gas. This is accompanied by change of state of the gas which means change in temperature and volume of a quantum of gas going under compression . The most important ofcompressors such as providing enough pressure to a gas transport through transmission and distribution systems, reinjection of gas for pressure maintenance, circulation of gas through the process or system, raising gas pressure to the required level for a chemical processing reaction,etc. The compression calculations in the natural gas industry must be accurate and its of paramount importance for the gas industry. If an error occurs even though only 1.0 percent in the measurement of natural gas in the pipeline, this will give a loss either the seller or the purchaser amount of million a year, and certainly this is a bad thing and can be detrimental to the oil & gas company. Not only compression calculation but also the accuration of flow metering is
importance. The Flow is one of the most difficult variable to measure, because it cannot be measured directly like pressure and temperature. It must be inferred by indirect means, such as pressure differential over a specified distance, speed of rotation of a rotating element, displacement rate in a measurement chamber, etc.

INSTRUCTOR :

Dr. Ir. Sudjati Rachmat, DEA graduated from Petroleum Engineering Department of ITB in 1979 and got his Doctorate Degree with honored in 1987 from Ecole Centrale de Lyon I, France . The topic of his thesis is Modelisation Numerique d’Ecoulements Polyphasiques en Milieux Poreux Application au Cas de Calcul des Champs de Pressions et de Saturations dans un Gisement de Petrole.

For the time being, he became a lecturer in Petroleum Engineering Department of ITB. His subjects are Analysis and Numerical Method, Engineering Mathematics, Computer Simulation, Flu id Mechanic, Artificial Intelligence for Petroleum Engineering.

He also gave many courses to the community, such as: basic reservoir engineering and reservoir simulation, basic production engineering, down hole well testing, statistic and numerical method for petroleum engineering, basic log interpretation, etc. He is a member of some profession organization such as: IATMI, SPE/EIME, IMA, HAIAI, FPS-USA, INAGA, and IGA.

LATAR BELAKANG :

Las TIG pada dasarnya adalah pengelasan gas tungsten-arc, elektroda digunakan sebagai penyala/pengumpan busur nyala api. Elektroda tidaklah digunakan seperti pada proses pengelasan las listrik. Proses pengelasan TIG pada umumnya menghasilkan lasan yang lebih baik dari pada proses yang lain. Kelebihannya adalah bisa untuk mengelas alumunium, juga digunakan untuk mengelas jenis logam yang lain dan yang paling efektif adalah untuk mengelas logam dengan tebal 1/8 inci.

TUJUAN :

Peserta diharapkan dapat mengetahui dan memahami :
1. Prinsip dasar dan aplikasi GTAW
2. Pemilihan, persiapan dan pembentukan tungsten
3. Keistimewaan dan kerugian GTAW
4. Desain sambungan dan posisi pengelasan
5. Material, pemilihan elektroda dan pemeriksaan hasil lasan

Ir. Sutrimo dilahirkan di Jombang 5 Juli 1958. Beliau alumni dari politeknik ITB  jurusan mechanical engineering & production, dan alumni dari UGM jurusan mechanical engineering. Beliau sekarang sebagai dosen di politeknik ITB(politeknik negeri Bandung,POLBAN) di jurusan mesin. Di kampus Beliau mengajar beberapa mata kuliah diantaranya machining(production), material testing and measurement, instrumentation, industrial metrology, fabrication(welding), dll. Beliau pernah memegang beberapa posisi di kampusnya, seperti head of material testing and measurement, head of industrial metrology laboratory, training manager of welding training center international certification,trainer/instructor of international welder certificate, trainer/instructor of international welding practioner, trainer/instructor of basic training welding for instructor Indonesian polytechnic and university,dan head of welding training center international certification, dll.  Ir. Sutrimo sering juga mengikuti training-training
sebagai peserta untuk meningkatkan kualitas kemampuan kompetensi Beliau. Ir. Sutrimo sudah sering dan berpengalaman memberikan training-training industry untuk perusahaan-perusahaan di Indonesia.

Deskripsi

Minyak dan gas bumi adalah sumber daya alam yang tidak dapat diperbaharui. Maka dari itu dalam pengambilan minyak bumi tidak boleh sembarangan, tidak boleh di eksplor berlebihan. Selain itu juga dalam  proses pengeboran untuk mendapat minyak bumi tidak boleh sembarangan, harus sesuai dengan prosedur yang berlaku. Dalam dunia perminyakan, eksplorasi atau pencarian minyak bumi merupakan suatu kajian panjang yang melibatkan beberapa bidang kajian kebumian dan ilmu eksak. Untuk kajian dasar, riset dilakukan oleh para geologis, yaitu orang-orang yang menguasai ilmu kebumian. Mereka adalah orang yang bertanggung jawab atas pencarian hidrokarbon tersebut.
Secara ilmu geologi, untuk menentukan suatu daerah mempunyai potensi akan minyak bumi, maka ada beberapa kondisi yang harus ada di daerah tersebut dalam eksplorasi minyak bumi hal ini disebut kajian geologi. Jika salah satu saja tidak ada maka daerah tersebut tidak potensial atau bahkan tidak mengandung hidrokarbon. Pelatihan ini akan memberikan pemahaman mengenai geologi minyak dan gas bumi serta mengoptimalkan kemampuan perusahaan untuk mencapai tujuan strategis perusahaan.
